Light On Life Retreat FAQs

Do I need prior meditation experience?
No. This retreat is designed for both beginners and seasoned practitioners. You will be gently guided through each practice, with space to explore at your own pace.

What does a typical day of the retreat look like?
A full day usually includes guided mindfulness practices in stillness and movement, personal reflection time, mindful meals, teacher conversations, and group sharing. There is a balance of structure and spaciousness so you can settle into your own rhythm.

Is the retreat silent?
To support deeper awareness and clarity, the retreat includes a Day of Silence, which starts from Day 2 after dinner and ends at Day 4 before breakfast. 

What should I pack?
Comfortable clothing suitable for a tropical climate, light layers, water bottle, swimwear (if you'd like to swim at the pool), insect repellent, sunscreen, and any other personal items you may need. Cushions, mats, and chairs are available at the centre.

Can I attend only part of the retreat?
For the integrity of the experience, you are encouraged to attend the full retreat. Arriving late or leaving early may be disruptive for both your and the group's learning. 

Are meals provided?
Yes, the centre provides wholesome plant-based meals, starting from dinner on Day 1 and ending at lunch on Day 5. If you have dietary needs, please indicate them in the intake form, and the kitchen team will do their best to accommodate.

What if I can't sit still for long periods of time?

Mindfulness practice is not about forcing the body. You may sit on a chair, use cushions, lie down, or take mindful breaks. You are welcome to adjust your posture whenever needed.

Is this retreat suitable for people with stress and anxiety?
Many participants come seeking clarity and emotional balance. This retreat is meant to be supportive, but it is not a substitute for clinical or medical treatment. If you're unsure, you are welcome to check in with the retreat teacher beforehand.

Do I need to participate in all the retreat activities?
All the practices and activities over the 5 days are designed as a complete immersive journey.  You are encouraged to attend all experiences to receive the full benefit.

Can I use my phone during the retreat?
You will be asked to keep phones and devices on silent and limit usage to essential needs. This helps maintain a conducive environment for yourself and others.

Is there free time during the retreat?
Yes. Afternoons usually include JOMO time - a few hours that allow deep rest, journaling, enjoying nature and offline activities, and receiving spa treatments. 

What is the accommodation like?
Rooms are comfortable, cleaned daily, and designed to support rest and spaciousness. Options include single or double occupancy (two single beds), depending on your preference at registration.

How do I get to the retreat venue?
Shuttle service is provided from the Bali International Airport to the retreat centre. The journey takes around 90 minutes. Upon booking your flight, please provide us the details so that the pick-up arrangements can be made.

What is your cancellation policy?
Partial refunds are given within certain cancellation periods. Full details are available on the intake form.

How do I sign up? 
Click on "Reserve Your Spot" and make an initial deposit payment to secure your place in the retreat. Thereafter, we will reach out to complete the registration, including filling out an intake form and making the balance payment. 

What if I have more questions?
You are welcome to reach out anytime. The teacher will do their best to support you in deciding whether this retreat is a good fit.
